Gina & Andy, October 4th October 7, 2009

I’m going to switch things up a bit here and blog a wedding from just a few days ago. Once I get caught up on blogging my weddings from this year, I’ll be starting to blog “sneak previews” for couples a week or two after their wedding (that means you, 2010 people!). I know everyone is always anxious to see the photos!

So, for Gina and Andy, I’ve just been editing their photos and wanted to share them with you (and them), and also give a big thanks to Gina who sent me home with one of their beautiful centerpieces! I have definitely been enjoying it – I don’t often buy flowers because my cats like to chew on them…. I’ve been keeping these up on a high shelf, out of their way!

We had a surprisingly perfect day (it had been forecast earlier in the week for rain all day), and Gina and Andy were relaxed, happy, and obviously enjoying being able to spend time with their families and friends (lots of cute kids!).

Megan & Chris, Engagement Session September 13, 2009

Hello blog-watchers!  I am again sorry for the long wait in-between posts – it’s been quite a busy month for me, personally and professionally. I shot eight (!!) weddings in August, and last week Tom (my fiance) and I bought our first home (and a fixer-upper at that). SO… Needless to say, I’ve been shooting shooting shooting, and editing editing editing… And still in the midst of my busy season, trying to fix up a house to move into, and also planning my own wedding in November.  However, I will have tons of stuff to blog about come winter-time when things slow down! And I will be continuing to blog through the next couple of months, but it will be sporadic.

In the meantime, with the end of summer looming, I thought I’d share with you the engagement session of Megan and Chris, which was my only portrait session at the beach this summer.  They’ve been planning their wedding long-distance from L.A. and we were able to coordinate our get-together while they were visiting their parents. It was a great day, and Megan and Chris are so much fun – can’t wait for the wedding!

Lori & Karl, May 2nd August 5, 2009

Well, I’m finally taking a break from editing, and coming up for air… I wanted to share a few photos from Lori and Karl’s wedding, which was three months ago (I can’t believe it’s been that long already!)… Lori and Karl are such a warm, easy-going couple, and it was a pleasure to spend time with them on their “big day.”

Summer is here! July 19, 2009

Yay, finally, at the end of July, we are finally experiencing summer! So, I have to apologize profusely for not blogging more, and for not even having any photos to share in this post… I have been very lucky to be quite busy this summer, and have been busy shooting and editing without much time to sit down and actually go back over things months later! Also, my fiance and I are apparently crazy and looking into buying a house. Why we decided to do this while in the midst of my busy season, and also while trying to plan our own wedding, I cannot say (because we are nuts? I guess).

I’m also going to be away this week with limited access to email (I’ll still be checking it hopefully at least once a day), so please don’t be concerned if I don’t get back to you immediately! I’ll be back by Friday night.

Natalie & Andrew, April 25th July 2, 2009

I woke up on April 25th excited to start my wedding season, and so grateful for a warm and sunny day. I thought, “hey, the summer has arrived early!” You can tell I’m not from New England (hey, in Georgia, summer comes at the beginning of April)… And so I have been sadly disappointed as the rainy spring seems to go on and on… Oh well. At least on days I’ve been shooting, the rain has mostly stayed away.

So, Natalie and Andrew found me through Natalie’s sister, Michele, whose wedding I shot last summer (Meghan & Michele) – it’s always nice to reconnect with a family I’ve worked with, seeing the parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents…

Their ceremony was at the chapel at MIT, which I was looking forward to shooting at since it was my first time there, and I had heard how neat it was inside. Then the reception was at the Lyman Estate in Waltham. We met there beforehand to do alot of the photos, then headed over to the ceremony. Also, I love all the details that they put into everything! Their bird theme went throughout – from the cake topper to the tiny birdhouse placecards/favors, and the centerpieces.

My First 1st Birthday Party! June 16, 2009

Yes, my first 1st birthday party – that I’ve photographed! In March, I had the privilege of shooting little Grace’s first birthday – her parents Ed and Jennifer thought of me since I photographed their wedding a few years ago. Thanks guys, it was fun, and she is sooo cute!

Julie & Will, January 3rd June 10, 2009

So, my year began with the fabulous winter wedding of Julie & Will… They found me through my very good friend Heidi, and I was so glad they did! They were obviously giddy all night, and their ceremony, involving their kids, was an emotional one.

For some reason the WPJA decided that all the images in this contest should be b&w, although there are a couple that I would’ve left in color if possible. You’ll probably be seeing them again soon when I start blogging the weddings I’ve shot so far this year.

A Busy Spring… May 28, 2009

Well, I’m back from my non-intentional hiatus… It’s been a busy few months! In March, I got engaged (yay!), in April, my wedding season officially began (yay!), earlier this month I turned 30 (yay!)… And both of my computers have had issues… blah. My laptop (which is where I used to blog from!) officially died after three years of loyal service. And my regular computer decided it didn’t want to burn CDs anymore… I can’t believe I actually survived three whole days without a computer while it was getting fixed! So now, everything’s back to normal, and I’ve gone through the initial craziness my own wedding-planning (I can empathize with all you ladies planning – and guys – it really can take over your life!). All of the important stuff is done for our November nuptials (yay!). I don’t have any images at the moment to share, except the photo my fiance, Tom, took of the two of us on the night he proposed. Excuse my red eye – it was taken with a point & shoot.

I’ll be posting tomorrow the images I’m submitting for the Wedding Photojournalists Association quarterly contest (wpja.com)… The deadline is tomorrow, so I will have to do a lot of work today choosing and editing stuff! That deadline really snuck up on me.
